What is Media?

Learning Objective: To discuss what media is and how it impacts our lives.

Media (definition):

"The main means of mass communication"

The main purpose of media is to make money.

Media Influence:

I think the media influences me because it is everywhere you look and can be hard to ignore. Also if someone famous says something online and it has a wide audience, then everyone is talking about it and giving you their views about the subject. Some examples of this would be Donald Trump and Brexit. 

1- The Media shouldn't be allowed to embarrass and humiliate people.

I agree with this statement because if the media didn't set an example of being rude to people then the people that read it might stop being horrible to people too.

2- The Media is neutral/ unbiased.

I disagree with this statement because the people that write in newspapers and on social media, for example, have their own views about the things that they write -some positive, some negative- and when their views are spread around the world it changes the way that other people view things
