21/11/2018 DIRT Learning Objective:  To show development of Photoshop skills and understanding of genre and layout. Target: To work on placement and adjusting colours on photoshop to make the background match the picture and to get more done in the time given. My Poster: WWW: I improved by placing the components of a movie poster in the correct place. EBI: Make the foreground match the background more. Peer Assessment By Livi:   The poster was really really good and i love it. One of the main problems is that you need to try to blend the image into the background. other than that BOOTYFULL DAHLING!

7/11/2018 Key Terminology Learning Objective:  To review and explore key subject terms and concepts. Connotation- A hidden, attached or associated meaning of an image, symbol, colour etc. Conventions- The unwritten rules of a media text: the things that we have come to expect from media products. Genre- The type, category or kind of media product. Ideology- The ideals, values and beliefs that are promoted and encouraged by a media text. Institution- The company responsible for creating and/or distributing the media product. Representation- The way a person or idea is made to look, or is shown, to the audience. Target Audience- The specific people a product is aimed at. Text- The actual media product being studied. Film Trailers

2/11/2018 Film Trailers Learning Objective:  To establish the method needed to create a successful film trailer.   Conventions of a horror movie trailer: Slower pace at start Follows main characters throughout  Editing gets faster Flashes Dramatic music Jump scares become more frequent Killer reveal Follows story line vaguely   Ingredients: Unsuspecting, normal people Villain (psychopath, monster) A weapon or person with powers Dramatic Music to add fear Isolated place/ town Jump scares Increasing pace Recipe:   Unsuspecting people and their friends/ enemies get wrapped up in a dramatic plot.  Then add some suspense and drop some clues so clues so that the characters know that they are in trouble. Scene editing quickens as people start getting picked off one by one. Throw in some close-ups showing terror and fear into the mix. Add some barriers so that the good guys get held up and the audience starts to get annoyed...
