Story:
A second woman in China is now pregnant with a gene edited baby, Chinese authorities say. The mother was among eight other couples who suffered with HIV who were selected. Of these couples one dropped out and 5 were unable to become pregnant. Of the 2 mothers who became pregnant one has already given birth to twin girls known as Lulu and Nana. The second is still pregnant. He Jiankui ( a Chinese scientist) promised these couples the possibility to have a baby that resistant to the disease (HIV). Using CRISPR techniques, he went against the guidelines set by his country to edit two foetus. Although his intentions may have been good, He Jiankui has been shames by over 100 scientists who called his work 'monstrous' and potentially unsafe. Dr. He is now facing questioning according to the laws and regulations of his country.
